Christmas and Other Updates

Melanie has now experienced Christmas with both sides of the family. We stayed local for one and traveled over 8 hours to reach the other. It was good to see everyone. Since Melanie is only a little over 3 months old she was not very aware of all the hubbub... next year will definitely be another story altogether.

Melanie met her brother, Nathaniel, for the first time this week. He held her several times and avoided the dirty diapers :) Melanie thought he was pretty interesting and smiled at him.

Melanie's daycare is able to interact more with her since she is staying awake more during the day. The few days she was there this past week her caregiver, Amy, said she was extra giggly and curious as to things around her. Amy also reported Melanie's complete dislike of having a very big blowout that shot up her back. It required a complete outfit change and quite a bit of cleaning up with baby wipes. Ah... the joys of diaper changing *laughing*.

Matt and I opened our own presents here at home yesterday. We are going to break out one of Melanie's gifts for her this weekend. It allows her to develop motor skills on her tummy and converts to a toy she can interact with while lying on her back.
