Updated pics - 05/26

After we feed Melanie in her chair she is often very smiley and giggly. You can see from this picture she has a full belly and is ready to start the day. This picture was captured after a breakfast sitting.
My Mitsubishi Galant is not around anymore. We now have a Volvo V50 (2005). It is roomier than the Galant and drives wonderfully. I've always wanted a Volvo and now I have one. It is the perfect ride for our little family. Yippee!!! :o)
Melanie spends a lot of time entertaining herself with her toys on the floor. She doesn't need the Boppy by her anymore, but will sometimes use it to help herself move around.

That's right folks! I have successfully dumped out all the toys in my little bucket. Now I will move forward with chewing the edge like it is going out of style.
Our neighbors, Pam and Dean, leant us this toy for a couple weeks. Melanie would try right away to move herself around and spin the toys on the "dashboard".

Next week Melanie turns 9 months old. Start marking your calendar for September 6th - her 1 year birthday. Lucky for us her birthday falls on a weekend. I hope family from out of town can come.

Everyone told me the time would fly by the first year and I believed it. It is amazing to me that within a few short months we will be deciding what kind of birthday party to have. No matter what we do there will a piece of cake for her to get messy with and enjoy.

The weather is warming up around Indianapolis and the parks are glorious. Matt and I took Melanie for her first park trip the other weekend but it was too chilly. With the temperatures getting into the 70's and 80's I am excited about taking her on stroller rides. The park closest to our house has nicely paved trails that make it easy to push her around. Come on over, visit with us, and take a walk with us.

Bath Time

One of Melanie's favorite things is her baths. She is a splasher! Once in awhile she does strike a cute smile or two. I was able to capture some of those smiles and her playtime antics in some recent photos. Enjoy! :)

Almost 8 Months Old

These are all pictures we captured today. Can you believe Melanie is almost 8 months old? We are only a few days away.
This picture shows her teeth so well.
Smiley and giggly playing on the floor with her toys. She sits up, rolls around, and scoots to her little heart's content. Alas... she is still a few skills short of actual crawling. She tries so hard it will be very soon!
That's right! See the bumblebees on her shirt? Melanie is the newest addition to the "Bumblebee girls"... Yoder girls of adventure! She is already acquainted with Panera, which is just one of the "requirements".
"Mom and Dad can't see me now, but I'm a gold medal chewer!"

Melanie is such a big girl drinking her bottle by herself... this was taken in the morning while Mommy makes coffee and gets things ready for the day.
