The weather here in the Indianapolis area is getting more and more summer-like. We will have several days of very warm weather and then several more days of sweater/light-coat weather. I love this time of year almost as much as the fall season.
The only thing I wish was a little different is the length of time between rain coming down. The ground doesn't get quite dry enough for me to get the next round of flowers and groundwork done. I'm doing my best to make visual improvements around the house and yard. There is something about getting my fingers in the ground that is truly soul-cleansing.
Melanie and I went to the park a couple weekends ago. I captured a few pictures on my cell phone that I hope you enjoy.
Melanie riding her tricycle. She would go pretty fast and then suddenly stop to pick up leaves and/or twigs.

Melanie likes tackling a new climbing challenge...

Every day after work we spend as much time as possible outside. Since it isn't super hot and muggy out yet, it is great to enjoy our backyard, search for worms, let the dogs run around, and just enjoy things.
Here Melanie is playing with "flowers" (a.k.a. dandelions). She likes to pick them and put them into water to let them float. The dogs were without their water bowl for a little while... but they soon got it back with the flowers.
The newest activity for Melanie is upgrading to a "bigs kid" bike. My sister is letting us borrow a bike her kids have outgrown. We put some training wheels on it and now she is learning the ropes.
Yesterday we went to WalMart and bought her "the first helmet". She picked it out... pink with panda bears. She was up bright and early this morning asking for her bike and wanting to wear her helmet. I clearly remember not wearing helmets and learning to ride barefoot. Ah... times are a changing.
Matt already has plans to take Melanie to one of the local parks today and let her go-go-go! I can't wait to see how she does. The weather may drizzle or sprinkle rain today. I hope it holds off long enough for Melanie because she is so excited about her bike.
I hope you are all doing well. Until next time, enjoy the pictures!
