4 Months Old - Update and Pics

Happy 4-Month "birthday" to little Melanie Rose! Melanie has experienced several new things over the past week. The first thing was rolling from her back to her stomach at daycare. Although she has done that a couple times at home, it was the first time she did it at daycare. Amy, Melanie's caretaker, was very excited about it. The second thing she has started doing is actively playing with one of her Christmas toys that her daddy picked out. We put it on a blanket that her Grandma Yoder made her for Christmas. The middle and bottom pictures above show her excitement at the "helm of the controls". Her little arms are too short to reach the triggers, but her little feet reach just fine. When she touches one with her feet, music plays and lights blink for a short period of time. The more she hits it, the more it plays. Her excitement at realizing she is the one doing it was so adorable. She was very happy. You can see from the picture in the middle how smiley she was over the whole thing. Smokey and Jessie like to be near her on the floor when she is playing with it. The third thing that Melanie is becoming a pro at is "talking". She has a sound that she makes that reminds me of a slight throat growl. She will sit there and do it back and forth with Matt/I for quite awhile. She has even started doing that right before she falls asleep; almost like she is talking herself into the all-night sleep. The fourth, and final, thing that Melanie is doing more and more is putting things into her mouth to chew them. At the current time she has two things that she loves to do this with: her Lion toy that her uncle, Mark, bought for her and toy rings (the kind that toys hang from). She especially loves the rattle feet of the Lion toy.The feet are just the right size for her little hands to grasp onto and put in her mouth. Until the next update... enjoy the pictures. :o)
