We've taken a few pictures over the last several weeks. It is hard to believe that Melanie is fast approaching 17 months old! In true toddler fashion she is trying out her boundaries; finding new counter tops to pull things off of, finding new ways to climb on top of chairs/boxes/whatever, and racing towards Matt's computer to press the power button.
The one activity that tops the charts is the all powerful, all knowing, remote control. Yes, she carries it around and thinks she is changing stations. However, she knows the real power is in the shiny, bright red light next to the large button below the screen itself! I am happy to report that Melanie knows what that Power button is for and loves to press it as much as possible. Ah... toddler days are here! While some tell me I should be cringing at the upcoming "terrible 2's" I find myself enjoying each moment of her little face with all its amazing expressions. Plus, who can resist how everything is new and exciting? I love that.
These first two pictures are from Melanie's bath this past Friday night. She LOVES bath time. Matt gave her a bath while I worked on laundry. Melanie's hair is normally curly during and after her baths. This time, however, Matt out did himself and really got those curls going. Check them out!

Here Melanie displays her most recent facial expression. We call it.... "the face".

It is not that the toilet paper is being removed from the hall bathroom. It is more like Melanie is working on her own interpretation of where it should be located.

In a true toddler moment, Melanie decided to do something that she shouldn't do; and we said no. Matt picked her up and headed towards the time-out chair. Needless to say I was there with the camera and captured a picture that makes me chuckle every time! Look at that sad, crying little face!

Last weekend Debbie and Sara came over. Melanie decided to pour Sara some tea. Of course, we all know there is no tea in that teapot... but she insisted! Quite often when Katie is over she will do this.. I think that is where Melanie picked it up. (We won't tell her the teapot should be pouring to the cup. She's just too cute doing it for that to matter.)

Eating supper one night.... and getting quite a laugh.

Melanie is opening one of her presents from Grandpa and Grandma Yoder. Matt had to help her a little bit since she was more interested in the wrapping paper. :)

Melanie climbs up on her rocking horse that Grandpa Yoder fixed up for her. She loves to gallop away on it!
